About Ian

IMG_4558_redIan Cochrane is an Australian writer calling Melbourne home. He is a an itinerant traveler, an author and the editor of TravelnRavel – a wandering bird’s-eye overview of most things even vaguely related to travel. He is also a prolific photographer , his work with a Creative Commons Attribution License.

Ian is a member of  Writers Victoria,  Australian Society of Authors, and a blogger on people, places and the human condition.

Wanderlust lured him to Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia and the South Pacific, while work has taken him to India, Africa, the Australian outback, Korea, and the highlands of Papua New Guinea.

Ian launched his first book – Indian Summers: Mumbai and Beyond, a collection of 13 tales on the paradox of modern India – to wild acclaim in 2011. Find it here as p-book or e-book, or throughout Australia and New Zealand via Dennis Jones & Associates.

Ian’s Australian Outback short story `A Splendid Memory’ is included among the non-fiction  2013 Cowley Literary Award finalists , and he has penned several tabloid travel and food features.

In addition to ongoing blog commitments, he is currently working on a great Australia roadtrip, two further collections of short stories, and a novel.
